Frequently Asked Questions

Q. MIDI isn't reaching my Mac DAW. How do I connect?

There are three ways (Wi-Fi is the most stable for everyday use).

1. Wi-Fi (Network MIDI)

  1. Put your iPhone and Mac on the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. On the Mac, open Audio MIDI Setup ▸ MIDI Studio ▸ Network.
  3. Under "Sessions and Directory", click + to create a session and enable it (first time only).
  4. In the same "Sessions and Directory" list, select your iPhone and click Connect.
  5. When your iPhone appears under "Configuration" ("Connected Peers" on newer macOS) on the right, you're connected.

2. Bluetooth: Have the Mac listen for Bluetooth MIDI, then connect from the Bluetooth icon in the app.
3. USB: Connect the iPhone to the Mac with a USB cable.

Once connected (the icon at the top of the app turns green), flip the on-screen Standby/Live switch to Live to start sending. See the in-app connection guide as well.

Q. What's the difference between "Standby" and "Live"?

The on-screen Standby/Live switch arms or mutes the output. Live (red, knob on the Live side) sends your wheel gestures as MIDI. Standby (knob on the Standby side) stops sending, so you don't transmit by accident while practicing or with the phone set down. The knob position shows which mode you're in, independent of the connection state.

Q. Which wheels are available? Can I add more?

Six: Pitch Bend, Modulation, Expression, Main Volume, Breath, and Custom CC. You can choose which wheels are shown in Settings. A Custom CC fader can be assigned any CC number, and can even send several CCs at once from a single fader (macro mode).

Q. What's the difference between Sustain "Hold" and "Playable"?

Hold is momentary — it's on only while you press it. Playable latches — tap to toggle on/off. Choose under "Sustain Behavior" in Settings.

Q. The screen keeps rotating / I want to lock the orientation.

The app does not auto-rotate (this prevents accidental rotation when it's lying on a desk). Switch between portrait and landscape manually with the rotate button in the header. In landscape, you can also choose whether the control panel sits on the left or right, to match how you hold the phone.

Q. How do I change the pitch bend range?

Use the "◀ ± N st ▶" control below the Pitch Bend wheel to step the range in semitones. Long-press ▶ or ◀ to jump straight to the maximum (±12) or minimum (±2).

Q. The haptics feel weak.

Haptics feel different depending on whether you hold the phone or rest it on a desk. They are tuned to be felt even on a desk, but the case and surface material also affect the sensation.

Q. How do the trial and purchase work?

All features are available for 14 days after install. After that, only MIDI output stops — the interface and haptics keep working. To keep using it, there's a one-time purchase (no further charges). On a new device or after reinstalling, tap "Restore Purchase" on the purchase screen to get it back.

Still stuck?

Please email us with a brief description of the issue, your iPhone model, the iOS version, the connection method (Wi-Fi / Bluetooth / USB), and which DAW you use.
