Faders for PT

Last updated: July 12, 2026

Put a row of faders under your fingers while you mix. Faders for PT turns your iPad or iPhone into a wireless multi-fader control surface for Pro Tools — track names, colors, pan, and automation included, over your own Wi-Fi.

Please note: “PT” is the common shorthand for Pro Tools, and Pro Tools is the only DAW this app supports. It does not work with Logic Pro, Cubase, or other DAWs. This app is made by obbliworks and is not an Avid product.

How it works

A free companion app on your Mac, Faders for PT Receiver, talks to Pro Tools using the HUI protocol and to your iPad or iPhone over Wi-Fi (UDP). Everything stays inside your local network: no account, no sign-up, no cloud service. As long as both devices are on the same Wi-Fi, you can even mix from another room.

Features

Get the app

Faders for PT is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

Download the free receiver (Mac)

Download Faders for PT Receiver

Free · macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later

Set up in three steps

  1. Open the downloaded DMG file.
  2. Drag Faders for PT Receiver into your Applications folder and launch it.
  3. In Pro Tools, open Setup ▸ Peripherals and set up a HUI controller — the step-by-step guide is in the app's built-in help.

What the receiver puts on your Mac

We keep this fully transparent. The receiver creates exactly one file:

Nothing else is installed — no daemons, no login items, no hidden folders. To uninstall, drag the app to the Trash and delete that one file.
