Faders for PT — Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 15, 2026
Overview
Faders for PT ("the App") is an app from obbliworks that turns your iPad or iPhone into a multi-fader control surface for Pro Tools. It works together with a free companion app on your Mac, Faders for PT Receiver ("the Receiver"), which communicates with Pro Tools using the HUI protocol and with the App over your local Wi-Fi network. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App and the Receiver handle and how.
Information We Collect
obbliworks does not collect or store any personal information through the App or the Receiver. Control data — fader movements, track information, and the like — is never sent to obbliworks or to any third party. For information collected by a third party (Google AdMob) in connection with advertising in the iOS App, see "Advertising" below.
Local Network Communication
The App exchanges control data — fader movements, button presses, track names, colors, and similar session information — with the Receiver running on your own Mac, over your local Wi-Fi network only. This data never leaves your local network: it never passes through, and is never collected by, obbliworks or any third-party server. The local-network permission is used solely for this communication.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App (iOS version) uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. Ads are served in a non-personalized configuration and are not selected based on users' past behavior. AdMob may collect information such as IP address and device information for ad delivery. For details, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy. The Receiver (Mac) shows no ads.
Data Storage
All app settings are stored locally on your device using the operating system's standard local storage. The Receiver stores its settings in a single preferences file on your Mac (~/Library/Preferences/com.obbliworks.fadersreceiver.plist) and creates no other files. None of this data is accessible to us or any third party.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
