Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Does it work with Logic Pro, Cubase, or other DAWs?
Not at this time. “PT” is the common shorthand for Pro Tools, and Pro Tools is the only DAW this app supports.
Q. The connection indicator doesn't turn green.
Two things to check:
- Your iPad/iPhone and your Mac are on the same Wi-Fi network. Guest networks and some router "isolation" settings keep devices from seeing each other even on the same router.
- Faders for PT Receiver is running on the Mac. The app can only connect while the receiver is open.
Q. The connection is green, but Pro Tools doesn't respond.
Check the HUI setup in Pro Tools: open Setup ▸ Peripherals ▸ MIDI Controllers and make sure a HUI controller is configured with the receiver's ports. The step-by-step guide is in the app's built-in help.
Q. I restarted the receiver and Pro Tools stopped responding.
Pro Tools keeps talking to the old connection after the receiver restarts. Click the "Reconnect to Pro Tools" button in the receiver to re-establish it — no need to restart Pro Tools.
Q. It says another device is in use.
This is by design: the receiver syncs with one iPad or iPhone at a time, so two devices never fight over the same faders. Close the app on the other device (or disconnect it there), then connect from the device you want to use.
Q. Can I use it from another room?
Yes. The app talks to the receiver over your Wi-Fi network, so it works anywhere your Wi-Fi reaches, as long as both devices are on the same network.
Q. How do I remove the ads?
Open Settings and choose "Go ad-free". On a new device or after reinstalling, sign in with the Apple Account used for the original purchase, then tap "Restore Purchase" on the purchase screen to restore ad removal.
Still stuck?
Please email us with a brief description of the issue, your iPad/iPhone model, the iOS version, the macOS version on the Mac running the receiver, and your Pro Tools version.
